REPORT OF LAGOS ECCLESIASTICAL PROVINCE OF WORLD APOSTOLATE OF FATIMA PRESENTED TO THE NATIONAL COUNCIL (WAF) ON THE 5TH NATIONAL ROSARY CONGRESS HELD BETWEEN FRIDAY18TH TO MONDAY 21^ST AUGUST, 2017 AT ABUJA ARCHDIOCESE

We give thanks to God Almighty for the grace to witness this year national Rosary Congress and the journey mercy granted to delegate from different diocese present at the Congress.

This report cover the activities of the Apostolate in the Archdiocese of Lagos between the period of June 2016 to June 2017.

INTRODUCTION

As it was reported in our previous report that Lagos ecclesiastical province has one Archdiocese and three Dioceses under her jurisdiction namely, Lagos Archdiocese, Ijebu Ode and Abeokuta diocese respectively, however only Archdiocese of Lagos is functioning among them.

MEETINGS: The Archdiocese hold her meeting every second Sunday of the month across her Centre’s while parishes and Cell/Centre’s hold their Cell Hour of Holiness weekly and their meetings monthly.

ANNUAL PROGRAM/ACTIVITIES

1. 2016 WAF day celebration: This was held on Sunday after 16^th of July in commemoration of the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

2. October Rosary Pilgrimage: This is a annual program that comes up every first of October of every year. The program commence with Rosary  procession from SS Philip and James Catholic Church Lekki to Ave Maria Grotto Ikate, which is about seven kilometer from take off point.

3. WORLDWIDE CHILDREN AND YOUTH EUCHARIST HOLY HOUR   

This event took place on 12 of December 2016 on this day member, all members are to come with a gift for exchange among members.

4. ANNUAL THANKSGIVING: This was celebrated on the last Sunday of January, being the last Sunday of the month. The item collected was donated to the home of the need.

5. CONSECRATION/SCAPULAR ENROLMENT:  This took place on 13^th of May 2017 at our Lady of Lourdes 15 members was invested with scapular of our Lady of Mount Carmel that day. 

6. Evangelization: with this period evangelization was held in five cells/centres.

7. ROSARY PROCESSION IN HONOUR OF CENTENARY

The program which was organized by the Apostolate in the Archdiocese has been on since May 29^th 2016 to date from parish to parish.

BEREAVED: We lost one of our member by name Sis Immaculata.

Conclusion: We thank God for his wonderful grace without which we are noting. We congratulate the national chaplains, national executives team for hosting the 5^th National Rosary Congress cum Centenary.
