Report of the Onitsha Archdiocesan Children of The Eucharist Celebration held on 12th March, 2016 at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Enekwasumpu, Onitsha
The World Apostolate of Fatima (Blue Army) Onitsha Archdiocesan Children of the Eucharist Celebration held at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church Enekwasumpu, Onitsha, on 12th March, 2016 was a complete success.
It was truly a spiritual program abundant with very interesting programs like, rosary procession, Holy Hour/Benediction, Holy Mass and Film Show that helped the cadet to understand the need and urgency of the authentic message of Fatima.
The event started with rosary procession at about 9.00am with over 700 cadet members from around the archdiocese in attendant.
Holy Hour was done by Rev Fr Peter Obimma during which the cadet from Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Fegge Onitsha conducted the Worldwide Children of the Eucharist Holy Hour Prayers, with flags representing all the continents of the world, adoring Jesus truly present in the Blessed Sacrament and they also sang the theme song.
The Holy Mass started at about 12.30pm with Rev. Fr Peter Obimma officiating. During the homily, he stressed the need for us to fulfill the message of our Lady of Fatima. He enjoined us to continue to say the rosary, make sacrifices for sinners, consecrate ourselves to God through the Immaculate Heart of Mary and live as Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta the three shepherds of Fatima.
After the Holy Mass, there was film show on the apparitions of Fatima, where the narrator explained in detail the apparitions of our Lady.
Roll call was taken to know the highest number of cadet from each parish. Entertainment followed immediately.
The archdiocesan president, Bro Vincentmariae Atuorah’s vote of thanks and the closing prayer said by our chaplain, Rev. Fr. Victor Ezeanya brought the celebration to an end.
NOTE: This is an archdiocesan yearly event usually done in March, because of the Onitsha Archdiocesan “A Day with Mary” program for all the Marian Society, which is done on 1st Saturday of October.
